Please read the following notes about this Wise Owl release carefully before installing it.

IMPORTANT

Any data you had previously stored in Contact level Custom Fields will be lost. You must manually save any information you have stored in these fields.

  • Document Templates
    • Mail merge function based on any Wise Owl database field
    • Officially provided document packs
    • Non-matter specific templates available (for pre-printed letter head or general documents)
    • Contact specific templates available (for generic letters to any contact against a matter)
    • Author templates in MS Word based on data exported from Wise Owl
    • MS Office not required on Wise Owl server
    • Mail merge supports most IF formulas in Word
      • Nested / sub-IFs are not yet supported
      • Formatting within an IF will be removed
      • Any IF which cannot be processed will be highlighted in red.
    • Mail merge supports image mail merges (eg: for a company logo) 
    • Mail merge supports lists of contacts (eg: all Clients, or all Other Side)
    • Mail merge supports specific contacts (eg: 3rd Client, 1st Other Side)
    • Mail merge against multiple contacts, creating either one document for all contacts, or one document for each contact.
