Common Functions
Several functions are available on nearly every page in Wise Owl Legal. All but the Launch Pad are located on the top right of every page.

The Wise Owl Legal Launch Pad shows the matters and documents you are currently working on. You can access it by clicking on the Wise Owl logo on the top left of your browser.
Help
There are several ways to get help in Wise Owl Legal. The easiest is the help icon in the top right of every screen. All screens have an associated page in our help system. Every field, button and action on every page is described in detail.

In addition to the help site, the Wise Owl Legal Helpdesk is available during business hours to assist you. You can access this using the envelope icon. 
Important Support incidents for general assistance may incur additional fees and charges depending on your subscription.
Finally, the Wise Owl Legal Community Forums are an excellent way to get answers to a wide variety of questions and problems for no additional charges. However, Wise Owl Legal does not endorse any content there; it is available as is. And the time to get answers depends on current forum activity.

The Community Forums are used to discuss possible future changes and enhancements to Wise Owl Legal. You can check them regularly to voice your support (or disagreement) regarding future enhancements and changes.
Search
Wise Owl Legal has a powerful global search function available on every page. This searches everything, almost instantly, and shows the most relevent items at the top!

More specific search areas are available in each module which only search within that module. For example, searching for Smith trust sale in Contacts will find the contact for Mr Smith.
Note The help pages are not included in searches. However, the help site has its own (quite similar) search function.

Billed Hours
If you use the Time Billing module, you will see a thermometer on every page. This represents how many hours you have billed today, compared to budget. 
The thermometer starts red each morning and will turn green when you have met your budget.

Many pages and data records in Wise Owl Legal can be printed as hard copies. This button will take you to a print preview page. 
Depending on what data you have on your page, this may print a list, table or single data record.

Tools and Settings
To the right of the modules is the tools and settings icon. 
The General Tools module contains various system wide functions which are not part of any other module. They include technical diagnostics, import and export functionality, and audit logs. (Some of these will only be available to privileged users.)
