The documents backup is only for your peace of mind and to completely allow you 100% access.
Wise Owl Legal allows it's users to access the 'back end' of the documents through a Windows Explorer (File Explorer) page.
- To open this, on your Windows machine, go to the start menu and search for 'Windows Explorer'. You can also press the Windows Key + E on your keyboard to open it.
- Once you have opened the Windows Explorer, in the address bar, type in the Documents path.
It will be in one of the following formats:
Win 10 \\<your firm URL\docs
Win 7 \\<your firm URL>@SSL\docs
or
https://<yourfirmurl>/docs
- A pop up will appear asking you to log in. Use the same credentials that you would log in to your Wise Owl database with.
- You will then be redirected to the folder with your documents sorted into Archived, Closed and Open matters.
- At this point, copy the relevant folders into a backup directory or onto a backup drive and you are done.
You can also drill down and only backup specific matters if required.
