Please read the following notes about this Wise Owl release carefully before installing it.

Description

Improvements to Support / Feedback page, filters on finance registers and Running Balance on Trust Bank Rec.

New Features

  • Improvements and additional fields added to the Support / Feedback / Contact Helpdesk page. 
    • Can paste screenshots directly from Snipping Tool / Printscreen Allows for easier upload of screenshots
    • Can opt-in / opt-out of privacy and remote access. Defaults are controlled via an Firm Appliance Setting. Allows Support to access computers to troubleshoot issues
    • Add Web Address field to capture more details about errors. Allows Support to help quicker
  • Show system update message to particular uses (based on Sees After System Update Notice right). Message should be dismissed by clicking the X; otherwise will remain for up to 7 days. Informs specific users of System Update 
  • Add summary of filters to the bottom of each finance register page (Invoice, Disbursement, Receipt, Recovery and Time Registers) Shows filters at bottom of search to remind user
  • Add a Running Balance on Trust Bank Reconciliation page.

Bugs Fixed

  • Fix Receipt Clear External Error action did not actually save. Assists Support if errors while entering Receipts
  • Fix Trust Reversal buttons are clickable even when appear to be disabled. Note that the reversal would not actually go through when disabled.
  • Fix can remove all line items from an Invoice or Disbursement.  No longer able to delete all lines on disbursement or invoice
  • Show error message on Search / Register pages if dates are entered backwards (ie: date from is after date to). Helps user with searches
  • Fix auto-override of rate when editing an old Timesheet record via the Details page. User must opt into auto updates by checking a box. Checkbox is untecked by default so the rate amount does not unexpectedly change. Allows for rate to change only by user choice
  • Fix unconfirmed receipt count shown on Receipt Register page to correctly match Draft status. Gives the number of unconfirmed receipts in draft status for review
  • Fix Security Matrix import fails if an unknown Right is listed. 
  • Trust Overdraw Reversal - fix incorrectly shown error message if no bank rec has ever happened. 
  • Fix Reckon Web Connector bug which may not always revert a Disbursement to Draft status if an error occurs. Assists Support in troubleshooting Disbursement bugs
  • Fix posting duplicate records to Reckon Accounts does not work if 2 or more duplicate are in Reckon already. Reduces risk of duplicate being posted 
  • Fix invalid email address on Support / Feedback Request causes an error page. Now will only accept support request if email is correct
  • Fix crash on Edit Invoice page if no Invoice Statement Report exists. 
  • Fix unable to delete an Invoice when receipts have been posted against it and receipts are deleted (Invoices can now be deleted once all receipts are deleted). Allows Invoices to be deleted once receipts are deleted
  • Fix possible error page in various parts of the system if the audit log summary field is longer than the database allows. This is highly uncommon but could occur with extremely long matter names. There is no possibility of invalid data being saved to the audit log; the whole save operation would have failed.
  • Fix "you have unedited changes" warning can appear on register / search pages when invalid dates are entered. 
  • Fix incorrect tab order on Receipt page when entering a Matter or Invoice.
  • Fix serious error which can require re-entry of data on current page if user enters angle bracket characters (< >) in fields. These can be interpretted by the system as a security threat. A warning is now displayed.
  • Add workaround for posting non-english characters to Reckon Accounts. 
  • Fix spelling error in Trust Transfer to General validation error message.
  • Fix "ALL" checkbox on register / search page filters can sometime be incorrectly applied.
  • Fix list of invoices are not displayed on New Receipt page if a validation error occurs and user has selected Confirmed status.

Other Changes

  • Normal users can no longer create a Trust Reversal before the most current bank rec. Wise Owl Helpdesk may grant access to users after appropriate training and authorisation.
  • Edit Typing Shortcuts list is available under its own Right (Edit Typing Shortcut List) to maintaining typing shortcuts without full access to all lists. Typing Shortcuts now exist on their own page
  • New Receipt page - removed Related Contacts option when searching for Invoices as this scenario is not supported by Reckon Accounts. Allows easier integration between WOL and RAB
  • Re-positioned the Auto Update Rate checkbox on Edit Time Record page.
  • Reports added:
    • Archived Matters report 
    • Invoices by Matter Type report (beta)
