Release Notes for Version 3.1.0

Please read the following notes about this Wise Owl release carefully before installing it.

Description

Improved report layout. Settlement Calculator.

New Features

  • Legacy Settlement Calculator
  • Improved report page layout.
    • Reports are shown in tabs, grouped by category, in three columns.
    • View and Download buttons removed from report page.
    • Support for favourite reports. Users can nominate their favourite reports from each report's parameters page.
  • Invitation only access to beta Web Settlement Calculator.
    • Primarily for testing Water Adjustment calculations.
    • Supports Running Balance on right side of page
    • Supports Contract Details, Body Corporate and Seller Fees tab
    • Supports Water Adjustment tab with fixed and tiered usage, discount, government tax and other charges.
  • Support nested IF statements in Mail Merge Document Templates.

Bugs Fixed

  • Fix Resource Pack Update buttons for specific type of resource pack on Appliance Settings page did not work.
  • Fix count of documents with no matter on the Document Register page to exclude deleted documents.
  • Fix issue where a user logging in is denied access if they have reached their simultaneous user limit, but the login was never logged out. (This can happen if you close your web browser rather than clicking the Logout button).
  • Fix unable to create new Global Charge Rate when no charge rates exist.
  • Fix incorrectly recording all data imports as failed when they actually suceeded in audit log.
  • Fix possibility of including invalid characters in document names (eg: / \ : * and others).
  • Fix error when importing a Custom Field with a blank ForData cell.
  • Fixes for mail merge fields on Templates to fix custom formats (eg: yyyy-mm-dd for dates).
  • Fix Template mail merge IFs can sometime lose whitespace (eg: new lines and spaces).
  • Fix potential server error when validating creating documents from a template.

Other Changes

  • Add Doc Group to Edit Matter page, next to Matter Type. As a read only reference.
  • Improved support for mapped network drive for Documents. Can now safely edit Word and PDF documents. 
    • Temporary files generated by MS Office and Adobe Reader are ignored by Documents Register.
  • Add Bulk Close Invoices function.
  • Improve message about password expirty.
  • Add a "Button" type of custom field, used for specific actions. Current use is only for linking to the Settlement Calculator.
  • Allow custom fields to be set as Hidden or Read Only. These fields would need to be set via other means.
  • Contact Clear External ID error button now shows a confirmation dialog.
  • Improve performance when loading and saving Invoices with many (50+) lines.
  • Additional performance improvements when loading Wise Owl early in the morning (pages should be pre-loaded so first access should be faster).
  • Allow security exception so that free Lets Encrypt SSL certificates can be used.
  • Any contact listed against a matter will be set as Active (if previous inactive) when you save the matter (or create a new one against that contact).
  • Added a heading to Disbursement line items indicating the Invoice field.
  • Validate Contact address fields - must enter street line, suburb, state and postcode.
  • On Select Template Fields, change the default Data Source to Matter.
  • Change Contact 'Company' field name to 'Entity Name'.
  • Change label of Matter Balance column to 'Transit Balance' on the Trust Transit In / Out pages.
  • Validate that Contact addresses must contain a suburb, state and postcode.

Reports

  • Implement Standard Mailing Address format on following reports:
    • Invoice Single
