Outlook will sometimes decide that an Add In is causing the program to load to slowly and will either disable the Add In or may warn you that it is causing the program to open slower than normal.

This will happy to any Add Ins that delay the program opening by more than 1 second.

There are two options in order to tackle this issue.

Stop Monitoring this Add In

  1. Go to File

  2. Click on the Manage COM Add-Ins button

  3. Scroll down to your Wise Owl Outlook Helper and choose the option to not monitor the add in for 30 days and then click apply.

  4. Close Outlook and restart it to have your changes take effect

Always Enable this Add In

If Outlook has already disabled your Add In, you will need to re-enable it.

You can tell that Outlook has disabled the Add In if you see the yellow bar at the top telling you about an Add In problem.

  1. Click on the View Disabled Add-Ins button (or use steps 1 – 2 above to locate your app in the Add Ins section)

  2.  Open the options under the Add-In heading that was disabled and click Always Enable and Apply

  3. Close Outlook and restart it to have your changes take effect

Unfortunately, Outlook does not offer an option to mark an Add In onto the ‘Always Enable’ list proactively – It can only be done in response to it being de-activated.
