Templates
The Template Register can be accessed by going to the Document Register and then selecting ‘Template Register’
From the Template Register, you can use existing templates, search existing templates, upload new templates and select fields to create new templates.
Where can I see a list of available document templates?
We release documents to current subscribers based on their area; however, if you would like additional documents released to your database, please let us know.

How to Use a Template
The templates are all located in the Template Register as above. There are various ways to use a template and this is partially covered in How to Create a Document.
Other ways to use a template is to
Go to the Document register > Select New from template
Go to the Template Register > Select Use
You can also Copy a Template from the Templates Register. This could be used if you are creating a new version of an existing template but you don’t want to affect the old one. See further on for instructions on Modifying Templates.
How are my Templates Updated?
There are several ways for your Templates to be updated depending on the type of template.
Basic Templates
Letterhead, file note, fax header. These will be set up when your system is installed and will only need changing if you change the firm name, move office or change your branding.
These templates can be updated by Wise Owl staff or your staff as needed.
WOL Supplied Templates
These templates pack are supplied in line with your agreement with Wise Owl legal. They will be updated periodically by Wise Owl staff as forms change. The new changes will be automatically uploaded to your system and you will see a message on your screen saying an update has been made.
Templates are uploaded as a group that has the custom fields and the templates in one file which Wise Owl terms a ‘docpack’. Automatic and manual uploads can be made.
Firm Specific Templates
The maintenance and update process of In House Templates is the responsibility of the firm. Wise Owl is not responsible for the maintenance of these records. Wise Owl can assist with maintenance of firm specific templates on a fee for service basis.
