Wise Owl Legal is licenced by simultaneous user. This means that each person logging in to the OWL should be using their own named user with specific user roles and rights.
The licencing by simultaneous user is counted using a combination of the User and the IP Address.
One named user logged in to the OWL browser, documents and outlook helper using 1 IP Address will count as 1 simultaneous user.
It is recommended that when a user is finished using the OWL, they use the logout button on the top right of the screen instead of shutting the browser.
This will prevent users being taken up when people are not actually using the OWL. This is necessary especially if you are using the 'Remember me' function.
Troubleshooting
If you find that you are receiving the warning message below then there are already people logged in up to your simultaneous user limit (number of licences).
To check who is logged in, go to the Tools and Settings cog and then choose Active Users.
The list below shows 3 active users logged in as indicated by the numbers.
If someone has forgotten to logout, you can use the 'kick' function to force log them out.
NOTE: This will kick them out of the system and will not allow them the chance to save anything. Please only kick someone if you can confirm they are not working on anything.
If 1 user is logged in to multiple computers in your office, it will count as multiple logins.
