Australian English Spell Checking Support
As Wise Owl Legal is browser based software it is important to note the the spell checking function comes from the browser itself not the Wise Owl Legal software. Therefore, during the set up of Wise Owl Legal it is recommended that spell checking is enabled on your preferred browser.Â
However after testing, the Wise Owl Legal team have discovered that the browser dictionaries are not perfect and often cannot differentiate between US English spelling and UK English spelling. Due to this, it is important to emphasise the need to proofread all invoices before they are sent to clients.Â
Google Chrome
To set your spell checker on Google Chrome:
Select the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar
Select Settings
Select show advanced settings from the bottom of the page
Select languages and input settings from the language section
In the languages column identify what language is  currently used for spell checking, If the language you require is not available to select, click add and find your preferred languageÂ
Note that some users prefer to user English (UK) rather than English (Australia). After testing of the Google Chrome English (Australia) spell checking function it has been discovered that the browser does not differentiate between s and z in certain words. This emphasises the importance of proofreading all invoices before they are sent to the client.ÂOnce the requested language is chosen, select display in this language and spell checking for this language as shown below:
Select FinishedÂ
Close all Chrome browsers and relaunch to ensure the language change takes effect.Â
Note that in Wise Owl Legal, Google Chrome only shows incorrectly spelt words (indicated by the red underline) in the field you are currently typing in. Once you tab off a field all words, whether correctly or incorrectly spelt, will appear without a red underline.Â
Internet Explorer
To select your spell checker on Internet Explorer:
Select tools from the top menu bar
Select 'Manage add-ons'
Select 'Spelling Correction' from the left hand menu bar
Select English (Australia) from the available list
Ensure Enable spelling correction is ticked
Close
Close all Internet Explorer browsers and relaunch to ensure the language change takes effect
Note that in Internet Explorer spell checking often autocorrects words as you type (e.g. if you type speltt your IE browser will change this to spelt).Â
Spell checking is available on IE 11 on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. Spell checking is available for Microsoft Edge on Windows 10.
Older versions of Internet Explorer and Windows are not supported for Wise Owl Legal.
Mozilla Firefox

Tick Check my spelling as I type
Â
Note: Automatic spell-checking is only turned on for text boxes containing more than one line, where you can enter as much text as you want.

Scroll down to English (Australian) and install it.
After the dictionary is installed, right click on the word/text and open languages again.
You should now have a choice between the standard dictionary and the new installed one.Â
