Matter - Edit
Editing a Matter
After you have created a new matter, changes can be made at any time.
By selecting the matter name or number, you will be taken to a page that will allow you to edit that matter.
This can be accessed at any point that you can see the matter e.g. Trust Register if there are been Trust transactions made against it, Disbursements Register, Invoice Register etc.
You will have the same options as found when Creating a Matter. There will also be more options available to help manage your matter.
Clients and Contacts
Under this heading, you can add more clients to your matter.
Select the green Add Client button to add another line for the client and then start typing the client's name or number into the search area.
At this stage, you can also select to create a new client if one has not already been entered by selecting the blue plus sign.
This will open a new tab for you to create the client before exiting and returning to the matter page.
The up and down arrows next to the blue plus sign will change the order of your clients.
If you would like to add someone who is not a client but is still related to the matter, select the green add contact button on the far right.
You will have many options for the type of contact including barristers, third parties and vendors to name a few.

To delete a contact or client that has been added to the matter, select the red x at the end of that contact.
Documents
This module will include all the linked documents for this matter. Advanced Search options are available if the search is not wide or not specific enough
Custom Data
This module will include all the linked custom data for the documents of Wise Owl Legal. Stay Tuned.
Trust Transactions
This section is for a summary of any Trust Transactions that have included this matter.
It will calculate the Total Balance on a matter and then separate it into uncleared, protected, available, transit monies and uncleared payments.
Finance
This sections gives a summary of any Accounting and Finance transactions that have included this matter.
It will give a summary of all unbilled Hours, Fees, Disbursements and Recoveries.
It will also show the total amount that has been invoiced for this matter, if there has been any payments and what amount is still outstanding.

 Conflict Check
This Conflict Check is to record that you have checked to see if there has been any conflicts on this matter.
You will need to enter in your name and confirm that it was successful.
Related Matters
If any other matters relate back to this matter, you can link them in this section.
Select the Add Related matter button to add a line and, as you did in the contacts section, start typing the matter to select it.
