Error Matter

Within Wise Owl, there is an automatic matter set up upon creation of your Database called 'Error Matter'.

This is a special matter that is integrated into the Wise Owl settings to assist with Search Integration partners and should not have transactions manually coded to it at any stage.

When searches are imported from the search providers into Wise Owl, if they do not have a valid Matter reference, the search information will be added onto the Error Matter.

At this stage, the Launch Pad of Wise Owl will contain an Error informing the user that the Error Matter has been used.

You will also receive a message at the top of the screen informing you that the Error Matter has been used. This will appear each day as a message until you remove the records from the Error Matter and re-allocate them elsewhere.

For documents, recoveries, draft disbursements time entries and fixed fees, this is an easy process of finding the relevant record and changing it's allocation.

For confirmed disbursements, you will need to delete and re-enter the disbursement. This is also the case if there is an invoice that has been entered to the error matter.

Trust Transactions should not be entered to the Error Matter at all as this is not a valid matter for Trust. If you enter Trust transactions to the Error Matter by mistake, please reverse out these transactions and enter them to the correct matter.
