How do I make a Matter sensitive?
There are times that certain matters in the firm will be sensitive and should not be widely accessible.
For these such matters, you can mark them as sensitive. This will make them unable to be viewed on the Matter Page or the Documents page for anyone that does not have the right to see sensitive matters.
This does not remove the matter from any of the data entry screens (Trust entries, Billing etc) but the matter will only be available if the user knows the matter number on those pages.

To mark a Matter Sensitive
Open the Matter Register and find the matter you wish to make sensitive.
Open the Matter and scroll down to half way down the Matter Details section
Tick the Checkbox for 'Sensitive Matter' and save the matter.
The matter will now be listed with a lock symbol next to the status for those who have the right to see sensitive matters.
For those that don't have the right to see sensitive matters, they will see the following message.
Reports
For reports that could show sensitive matters or are sensitive in themselves, the user will need to have the Sensitive Reports right.Â
This right allows the user to run reports that have been marked as sensitive regardless of what matter they are for.
We recommend that if someone does not have the right to view sensitive matters then they should also not have the right to view sensitive reports.

Exceptions
If a user is listed as a Fee Earner on a sensitive matter but they don't have the sensitive matter right, they will still be able to see that matter as if they did have the right.
This will not affect the Sensitive reports right.
