Release Notes for Version 2.0.99.0

Please read the following notes about this Wise Owl release carefully before installing it.

Any data you had previously stored in Contact level Custom Fields will be lost

Description

Improvements to IF processing. Support non-english document names. Better bulk mail merges.

New Features

  • Process and evaluate IF statements in document templates to ensure they are removed from final documents and improve reliability of processing them.

    • Invalid / unprocessable IFs are highlighted.

  • Support uploading and editing (in MS Word) of documents with non-english characters.

  • Improved how Create Document from Template works so it can create multiple documents more reliably.

    • Has a progress indicator when processing multiple documents.

    • Shows a list of documents which were created - so the user can choose what their next action is (edit doc, back to doc register, merge more docs, etc).

    • Shows error and warning level details when creating documents. 

    • Can bulk merge from Template Register, any number of selected templates (no specific limit, but will probably stop working around 100).

    • Can bulk merge from Contact Register, any number of selected contacts (no specific limit, but will probably stop working around 100).

Bugs Fixed

  • Fix New Document To Other contacts button on Matter Contacts tab to be disabled if there are no other contacts listed.

  • Fix resource pack imports can sometime fail or show failure message even if import worked OK.

  • Fix drop down list of document actions on Matter Documents tab can be cut off.

  • Fix spelling errors in some error messages.

  • Fix multi-line text boxes cause an error if you enter html / email address / < or > characters.

  • Fix not correctly updating database fields when uploading document. This generally didn't have any serious impact, as other mechanisms would fix the issue as part of normal operation.

  • Fix error when sorting Report Definition list page.

  • Fix showing the Trust Bank Rec page which allows clearing and completing the bank rec if the bank rec is already completed.

  • Fix buttons can be still be disabled sometimes when clicking Save when they shouldn't be. Occasionally resulting in pages with erroneously disabled buttons. 

  • Fix custom date formatting on merge fields was not always working (particularly for date formats with spaces in them).

Other Changes

  • Add filter by doc group to custom field listing page.

  • Improve ordering of Extra Parameters listing on Document Register page.

  • Disable the New From Template button on Document Register if no active templates are loaded into the system, to allow us to rollout to clients with no templates.

  • Prevent Trust Bank Adjustments being posted against a completed bank rec or outside the bank rec date range.

  • Remove obsolete Invoice Payments report from Invoice page.
